On February 23, 2020, at approximately 3:30 a.m. Gibson County Sgt. John Fischer was patrolling US 41 when he observed a White 2010 Lincoln Navigator traveling in excess of 100 mph. Sgt. Fischer was able to clock the vehicle at 110 mph on US 41 near County Road 550 South. Upon stopping the vehicle Sgt. Fischer identified the driver as 30-year-old Dustin Haldeman of Princeton. While speaking to Mr. Haldeman Sgt. Fischer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver and began a roadside DUI investigation. At the conclusion of his investigation Mr. Haldeman was transported to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated/Endangerment and Reckless Driving. Mr. Haldeman was also issued a citation for possession of an open alcohol container. Mr. Haldeman has since posted a $650 bond.
Assisting Sgt. Fischer in his investigation was officers from the Princeton Police Department and Haubstadt Police Department.
