Disturbance call in Haubstadt leads to arrest of man on several charges

On September 21, 2019, at 8:12 a.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a report of a disturbance in the 500 block of South Ninth Avenue in Haubstadt. Upon arriving Deputy U.B. Smith began an investigation into the incident. During the investigation officers attempted to place 36 year old Justin Skelton of Haubstadt into custody for disorderly conduct during the investigation. At that point Mr. Skelton physically began to resist law enforcement. Once Officers placed Mr. Skelton into custody they found a pocket knife with an exposed blade on him as well as illegal drugs. At the conclusion of Deputy Smith’s investigation Mr. Skelton was transported to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Law Enforcement, Public Intoxication, Possession of Methamphetamines, Possession of Paraphernalia, Possession of a Schedule Drug without a prescription, and Unlawful Possession of a Syringe. He remains in custody on a $75 0 bond.
