Dulgar Lays Out Water Plant Options

City officials have narrowed down the options to build a new water treatment facility in Mt. Carmel. At Monday’s City Council meeting, water commissioner Justin Dulgar said a final meeting with Three I Design whittled 5 possible options down to 2….

In addition to the additional upfront cost for the soft water, Dulgar said the city would have to spend an extra $4 million over 20 years on the soft water that would create 5 tons of sludge a day the city would have to dispose of. The cost of rehabilitating the current treatment plant is only slightly cheaper according to Dulgar who distributed copies of the report to the city council for their consideration.
