City Council To Begin Negotiations On Purchasing 631 Market Street Location

It appears as if the temporary Mt. Carmel City Hall will become its’ permanent home. The July 7th water leak has caused the city hall building at 219 Market Street to become economically uninhabitable and forced city officials to look for a permanent replacement. Since the water leak, city operations have been handled out of a temporary setup at 631 Market Street and after a 40 minute executive session tonight, commissioners voted to begin the process of purchasing the building. Commissioner Eric Ikemire made the motion….

The building is owned by John Rhine and Stan Earnest who previously utilized the space for law offices.
