Another Billboard Approved By City Council

The Mt. Carmel City Council has approved another billboard for local developer Ed McPherson. McPherson recently purchased the former Mideast Supply building at 818 Market Street and told commissioners Monday that he plans to rehabilitate the property. Included in the rehabilitation was a request from McPherson to place a billboard on the side of the building, which the council readily approved. It’s the second billboard the council has approved for McPherson this summer and one of several he has around Mt. Carmel.

After the approval on Monday, crews cut down three large trees near the building to make room for the billboard. McPherson also said he had already cleared the back of the lot.

Upon questioning from commissioner Justin Dulgar, McPherson would not reveal his future plans for the building joking that it would be the location of the new Mt. Carmel City Hall.
