Try as they might, city crews are doing what they can to get leaves around Mt. Carmel picked up. But, a new issue has arisen to slow the process down again according to street commissioner Tom Meeks…
Every time wet leaves clog the leaf vac, it takes workers at least 15 to 20 minutes to clear the chute and continuing the route. Mayor Joe Judge has indicated leaf pickup will continue through the end of December.
Meeks also urged residents to help city workers out by clearing out any storm sewer intakes they might see that are clogged to alleviate flooding issues in heavy rains.
