ISP DISTRICT 19 TRAFFIC CRASH ALERT
The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 19:
WHAT: Fatal Traffic Crash
WHERE: IL Route 242 at Co. Rd. 300 North, Wayne County
WHEN: 10/04/19 at 9:42 pm
VEHICLES: Unit #1: 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis driven by Troy L. Manahan of Wayne City, IL.
PRELIMINARY: According to the preliminary traffic crash investigation, Unit 1, a Silver 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis, driven by Troy L. Manahan (age 57), was traveling South on Illinois IL Rt. 242 at Co. Rd. 300 North. Unit 1 failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the right side of the roadway and traveled through a large grassy median before striking an embankment and overturning. Unit 1 came to rest in a field. Manahan was pronounced deceased at the scene. ISP District 19 was assisted at the crash scene by Wayne City Fire and EMS, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, Wayne County Coroner’s Office and Rick’s Towing.
