Grayville Woman Gives Police A Fake Name & Is Arrested On Various Charges

On 9/22/18 Mount Carmel Police arrested Ashley Murphy, age 28, of Grayville, on three felony warrants for her arrest following a traffic stop in the 400 block of West 3rd Street.  During this time Murphy provided a fictitious name to the officer in an attempt to conceal her identity.  The officer, with the assistance of Grayville Police, was able to determine Murphy’s true identity.  Murphy was found to have two felony warrants out of White County and one felony warrant out of Edwards County.  Murphy was also charged with Obstructing Justice and Possession of a Hypodermic Needle as well as for No Valid Driver’s License and Operating Uninsured Vehicle.  Murphy was operating a white 1993 Ford van which was towed from the scene.  Murphy was taken to the Wabash County Jail and is being held on the above stated charges.  Murphy is being held pending a bond setting by a judge.
