Man Arrested After Pointing Loaded Gun At MCPD Officer

08/03/2018-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 39 year old Bradley M. Hughes of Mt. Carmel after police responded to a loud music complaint in the 1100 block of Westwood Drive in Mt. Carmel late Friday evening.  Police went to the home occupied by Hughes to tell him to turn down his music and when a female subject entered the residence with the police, Hughes met the officer and female with a loaded handgun.  It is then alleged that Hughes pointed the weapon at the responding officer.  The officer was able to get to a safe position and request backup.  Hughes would eventually lay down his weapon but then resisted arrest.  Hughes had to be shot with a TASER.  Hughes was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he is being charged with resisting arrest and aggravated assault on a peace officer.  Hughes is being held pending formal charges.  No one was injured during the altercation.  Mt. Carmel Police were assisted by the Wabash County Sheriff's Office.
