The Board of Trustees of Illinois Eastern Community Colleges approved a tentative budget and schedule for approval of the final 2019 Fiscal Year Budget, Tuesday, August 21, at the regular meeting, held at Frontier Community College.
A public hearing on the budget will be held at the regular meeting, Tuesday, September 18, at Lincoln Trail College. The final budget will be adopted following the public hearing. The budget has been available to the public at the IECC District Office since August 8th.
The District’s current agreement with the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI) has been an extremely successful partnership to benefit IECC students. The Board approved an additional component to the current CARLI image license agreement that provides access to expansive digital collections.
An existing athletic training services contract for OCC was approved for renewal with Carle Richland Memorial Hospital for an additional one-year period to cover athletic training services for the college for the academic year 2018-2019. A revision to the athletic training services contract previously approved for the 2018-2019 academic year between WVC and Wabash General Hospital was also adopted.
The Board approved a 24-month contract with Homefield Energy for the time period November 2018 through November 2020 for electric power service.
The Board approved the schedule of dates for the Trustee Election to be held April 2, 2019. The 6-year terms of John Brooks, Al Henager, and James Lane are up for reelection. All three trustees holding office are expected to seek reelection.
Affiliation agreements were approved with area health institutions for the Medical Office Careers Program and the Associate Degree in Nursing Program.
A lease agreement was approved for use of space at Lincoln Trail College for Storybrooke, a Preschool Program conducted by the Regional Office of Education #12.

The employment status of Courtney Meadows was changed from Interim Program Director of Cosmetology to Program Director of Cosmetology, effective August 22, 2018. The employment status of Candice Young was changed from Office Assistant, LTC to TRIO Upward Bound Counselor located at LTC, effective September 4, 2018.
Resignations were ratified for Mary Morningstar Johnson, Coordinator, College Support Services, DO, effective August 11, 2018 and for Luke Scheidecker, Head Women’s Basketball Coach, WVC, effective August 15, 2018.
The retirement of Chuck Bennett, Information Systems Technician, at LTC, was accepted effective September 8, 2018. The retirement of Galen Dunn, Maintenance/Groundskeeper and Operations and Maintenance Team Leader at FCC, was accepted effective October 1, 2018.
Next regular meeting of the Board of Trustees will be held at Lincoln Trail College, Robinson, on Tuesday, September 18, at 7 p.m.
