Mt. Carmel Police arrested 44 year old Rebecca J. Sharp of Cynthiana, Indiana after she was stopped in the 1100 block of W. 5th Street. During the traffic stop the arresting officer reported smelling an alcoholic beverage smell coming from the driver. After allegedly failing field sobriety testing, Sharp was transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged with DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, illegal transportation of alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sharp was also wanted on a Wayne County failure to appear warrant charging her with DUI. Sharp was held pending the posting of bond.
