On April 29, 2018, at 1:35 a.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a report of a single vehicle accident on US 41 near County Road 950 South. Sergeant John Fischer was dispatched to the area and located a Black 2005 GMC Pickup that had struck a guardrail. Upon approaching the vehicle Sgt. Fischer identified the driver as 30 year old Donald Collins Jr. of Princeton, and upon speaking with Mr. Collins Sgt. Fischer detected the odor of alcohol coming from the driver. At that point Deputy Fischer began a roadside investigation that resulted in Mr. Collins being taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the Gibson County Jail Mr. Collins was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a Prior Conviction and Operating a Motor Vehicle While a Habitual Traffic Violator. Mr. Collins remains in custody on a $750 bond.
