Missouri Family Escapes Serious Injury In I-70 Crash Near Greenup

ISP TRAFFIC CRASH ALERT

The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 12

WHAT: Minor Personal Injury Crash

WHERE: I 70 E/B @ Milepost 121 (Near Greenup, IL) WHEN: 12/30/17 @ 1:31 a.m.

VEHICLES: Unit #1 – Grey 2004 GMC Sierra Pickup DRIVER: Unit #1 – Joann A. Keisey, 26, Nixa, MO.

PASSENGERS: Unit #1 – Julie Porter, 57, Nixa, MO. Herman Robert Leisey, 24, Nixa, MO. 5 Year Old Juvenile from Nixa, MO. 3 Year Old Juvenile from Nixa, MO.

CHARGES: None

TRANSPORTS: All occupants were transported to Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, IN for minor cuts and soreness.

PRELIMINARY: Preliminary investigative details indicate Unit 1 was traveling Eastbound in the right lane on Interstate 70 approximately 55 feet West of milepost 121. Unit 1 began to change lanes into the left lane to pass another vehicle moving slowly in traffic when it spun out of control. Unit 1 ran off of the roadway to the right, struck the ditch/embankment, and overturned. Unit 1 came to final rest in the South ditch facing Westbound on its driver’s side.

Weather conditions at the time of the crash were freezing mist (ice on roadway).

 All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
