The Lady Aces hosted big conference competition Newton Tuesday night.
The Lady Aces wanted this match, but seemed to play a bit tight in front of the hometown crowd. They had some long volleys and aggressive play, but we didn’t see their best last night. Unfortunately that’s what was needed to beat Newton. The first set was close, but the Eagles pulled away in the second. Madi Stevens led the Attack game with 14 kills, but Newton had great defense, and strong attacks that put them at the top with scores of 18-25, 14-25.

The JV team went 3 sets with Newton. Dropping the first set 20-25, winning the second 26-24. The third set the girls had a little slump and fell behind losing it 8-15.
The team played with less errors and more intensity tonight. Newton had a solid JV squad, and gave the girls a good match. The Frosh game the Aces were behind the first set but came back at the end 24-24 but dropped the set 24-26. The second set they lost another close one 23-25.
The Aces will be back at home tonight against Paris, another conference opponent, with Frosh starting at 5:00.
