No Aces Football Game This Week; Will Accept Forfeit Win

From MCHS Athletic Director Kyle Buss:

After the cancellation of our week 8 football game by our opponent, Phalen Leadership Academy, we actively searched through several different states to find an opponent for our football team. After four days of pursuing schools to play, and receiving no interest, the Mt. Carmel High School football team will officially accept the forfeit win and move to 8-0.

We are very disappointed in the entire situation. We have now missed out on two football games for our student athletes. Although it is upsetting, we will use this week to rest, and prepare for our week 9 game against Paris. With a win, Mt. Carmel will win the Little Illini Conference, and end the season with a perfect 9-0 record, the 14th undefeated regular season in school history.

Although this Saturday’s game was supposed to be Senior Day, we still have plans to honor our senior football players, cheerleaders and band members. Once a final decision is made, the new senior day information will be released to the public.
