The Jr. Aces Football teams were defeated in both contests by the Marshall Jr. Lions in the final home games of the season Saturday at Riverview Stadium. The 6th grade team battled but fell 28-8, while the 7th/8th Grade team turned the ball over four times en route to a 40-0 loss.
8th Graders that were honored include Kayden Hanmore, Nash Cooley, Cade Belt, Remington Dillon, Cade Wilcox, Sam Schrader, Bentley Andrews, James Brewer, Eli Meier, Max Allender, DeSean Knowles, Caleb Keepes, Treyson Cohoon, Griffin Schilb, Brantley Howder, Wade Duckworth, Jonathan Keele, Ben Johnson, and Jase Alka.
James Brewer led the Jr. Aces in rushing with 19 carries for 114 yards. Tucker Buss had 2 carries for 16 yards, Eli Meier carried 6 times for 15 yards, Jaxson McCleave had a carry for 4 yards, Henry Buchanan had 2 carries for 4 yards, and Wade Macer carried once for a yard.
Dion Cirunay caught a pass for 19 yards and Bentley Andrews caught one for 3 yards.
Nash Cooley and Wade Duckworth tallied 4 tackles each. Jase Alka, Buchanan, McCleave, Ben Johnson, and Bennett Witsman all added 2 tackles each. Kolton Lang, James Brewer, Cade Belt, Jonathan Keele, Caleb Keepes, DeSean Knowles, William Umfleet, and Wade Macer recorded 1 tackle each.
In the 6th grade contest, quarterback Drake Pinnick connected on 12 of his 15 pass attempts for 190 yards and a touchdown. Leading receivers included Zayne Krup (69 yds and 1 TD), Stryker Pearson (44 yds), Brogan Ligon (55 yds), and Tysen Gourley (22 yds). On the ground, Pearson rushed for 28 yds, Pinnick had 19 yds, and Gourley added 11 yards.
Defensively, the 6th grade team was led by Stryker Pearson with 5 tackles. Zayne Krup, Drake Pinnick, and Parker Reel all had 4 tackles. Aiden Weir, Lucas Runyon, Anderson White chipped in 2 tackles each. Mason Alka, and Brogan Ligon added a tackle each.
