The Mount Carmel Women's Softball League has received approval to return to the Fourth Street Ballpark for its 2026 season.
During the recent Mount Carmel City Council meeting, league representative Eliza Harper requested permission to use the field and lights on Thursday evenings from July 23 through September 17. Harper also asked to leave the league's equipment trailer at the park during the season to store bases, chalk and other game supplies.
The council unanimously approved the request.
Harper also asked whether food trucks could operate during league games. Mayor Joe Judge said only food vendors that are properly registered with the City of Mount Carmel are permitted to operate on city property.
Before the vote, Mayor Judge also reminded league organizers to make sure trash is cleaned up after each game to help city crews maintain the park.
The Mount Carmel Women's Softball League season is scheduled to run Thursday nights from July 23 through September 17 at the Fourth Street Ballpark.
