From Coach Matt McCarty:
Three Golden Aces Cross Country runners competed Saturday at the 1A Sectional race in Mattoon, where runners tackled a 3-mile course.
Girls Race The Lady Aces were represented by freshman Ava Alka, who had an outstanding race! Ava set a new PR with a time of 20:16, finishing 49th out of 146 runners. Congratulations Ava!
Boys Race The Golden Aces had two runners competing in a field of 150:
Junior Wyatt Rooney finished 95th with a time of 17:38.
Freshman Eli Wilcox finished 106th with a time of 17:59.
Unfortunately, no Mt. Carmel runners qualified for the State Meet, bringing our cross-country season to a close.
Congratulations to Ava, Wyatt, Eli, and all of our Golden Aces runners on a great season! We are proud of your hard work, dedication, and accomplishments. Way to represent Mt. Carmel!
