The Mt. Carmel Lady Aces traveled to Fairfield Saturday for a 12 team tournament. They started the day against a top tier Norris City team. The Aces were aggressive and played well. We almost took a set from NC, but fell two in sets 18-25, 23-25.
After a short break we played North Clay and were able to stay on top, we had good energy and net play, winning in two sets 25-18, 25-15
The Aces entered the silver bracket with their first match against a LIC conference opponent
Oblong. We had solid play against Oblong with consistent serve receive, and attacking taking the match 25-15, 25-21.
Winning this game took them to the championship of the silver bracket against Cisne.
The Cisne team had good serving, and serve receive. They were able to beat us the first match 23-25. Cisne had a big run early when we struggled with the pass. The Aces got fired up and wanted the second set, we played clean and took the second 25-13 and the third set 15-12. This gave the Lady Aces the Silver bracket title. Norris City defeated Carmi and Fairfield for the Gold bracket winners.

Tenley Davis our Libero made the all tournament team.
The Lady Aces will have their first home game Tuesday night with Freshman starting against Oblong. Come out to see some hard hitting action!
