COACHES MIKE CHEESMAN COMMENTS:
We had a lot of great wrestling throughout the day, where we wrestled tough and gritted out some great matches. We saw improvements from earlier in the week, including guys getting revenge on some opponents. We, as coaches, talk to the wrestlers all the time about the process of effort, perseverance, grit, and work ethic is what we are looking for, and not necessarily the match outcome, because we know that if we improve those things every chance we can, then the desired outcomes of winning matches/duals/tourneys will eventually come. We are starting to get our wrestlers to buy into this culture, and we are seeing some great things and improvements. Although we may not have won every match, it was still a victory to build on for their next match or practice. We keep telling the kids that their efforts will pay dividends, and it's really neat to see them starting to believe it.
