Davis Saluted For 500 Career Digs As Lady Aces Fall To Mt. Vernon

The Lady Aces Volleyball hosted Mt Vernon on Monday. The Varsity team led most of the first set and almost had the win at 25-24, but Mt. Vernon pushed back and took it 26-28. The second set we had some breakdown in serve receive and more hitting errors letting the Rams in for the win 21-25. Maycee Randal led the Aces with 12 kills and 2 aces. 

Stats for the Aces were Mattie Armstrong 1 ace, 10 assists, 4 digs, Jayla Johnson 1 ace, 3 kills, 4 digs, Maycee Randall, 12 kills, 1 block, 3 digs, Tenley Davis 14 digs, 1 ace, Lyla Keepes 1 kill, 6 digs, Kyleigh Smith 3 kills, 1 assist, Tensley Dunlap 1 kills, 1 dig, Avery Coston 3 kills, Gabby Schneider 11 assist, 5 digs. 

The JV team had some long volleys but didn’t play with the same intensity as the last match against Olney.  Mt. Vernon attacked often and had strong serving that gave them the win. 19-25, 13-25.

The Freshman team dropped in 2 sets 13-25, 12-25, the Lady Rams had some varsity players that played all 3 three matches, making for tough freshman competition. 

The high point of the evening was Tenley Davis reaching her 500th career dig. Another bright spot, head coach Syreeta Willis surpassed her 100th career win with the Olney win last week. 

The team will travel to Newton tonight. The Eagles are currently undefeated in LIC play.
