Jackets Rout Clay City In Regional Semis

At the Clay City Regional on Wednesday, January 29th, Yellow Jackets Basketball took on Clay City in the first semi-final game of the night.  The Yellow Jackets jumped out to 27-7 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.  At halftime, the Yellow Jackets led 38-16.  As good as the first quarter was, the third quarter was even better for the Yellow Jackets as they pushed the lead to 67-20.  With a championship game appearance in sight, the Yellow Jackets defeated Clay City by the final score of 71-24.  Scoring for the Yellow Jackets was:  Trent Casburn with 19 points, Elliott Acree with 16 points, Matt Jackson with 13 points, Kollin Kelsey with 13 points, Eric Acree with 5 points, Carlos Monroy with 3 points, and Chase Gher with 2 points.  The A-team now moves to 12-8 on the season.

Next up:  SIJHSAA Class S Regional Championship game at Clay City on Friday, January 31st.  The Yellow Jackets will play New Hebron for the 3rd time this year at 6 pm.
