WVC’s Trosper moving to Division I School

Wabash Valley Athletic Director Mike Carpenter announced the resignation of Head Women’s Basketball Coach Jack Trosper on Monday Afternoon. Trosper has accepted the Women’s Basketball Assistant Head Coaching position at Southern Mississippi University, in Conference USA.

Trosper was the Head Coach of the Lady Warriors for just one season, and guided WVC to a 32-1 record and a perfect 16-0 GRAC Record. Trosper’s team advanced all the way to the Quarter Finals of the NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament, before falling to New Mexico Junior College 63-59, which was the only loss of the season for the Lady Warriors.

Trosper’s 2019 team also carried a 3.12 Team GPA, which was the best Team GPA for the Women’s Basketball Team at WVC since 2014-15.

Reached for comment, Trosper said, “I want to thank Athletic Director Mike Carpenter and President Fowler for the opportunity to lead such a prominent program. It was an incredible experience, and to be part of such a great Community as Mt Carmel was a great experience. This place truly loves and supports Wabash Valley College and their Athletic Programs, and I thank everyone for their support.”

WVC Athletic Director Mike Carpenter said of Trosper “We’ll miss Coach Trosper and are very thankful for his hard work and dedication to our School.  He did a great job of continuing the long-standing tradition of success with our Women’s Basketball program, and we appreciate his efforts. He has a great opportunity in front of him at Southern Miss, and we know he’ll do a great job.”

The search for a Trosper’s replacement will begin immediately.
