Last night the Lady Rockets hosted the Red Hill Lady Salukis. The JV team would lose 20-9. The first quarter Bella Jent would make a free throw and Madeline Mann would score a bucket. Hill would score 4 for the Lady Salukis. SMS would go scoreless in the second and allow 7 points. Coming back at the half Ava Jent would score 2. Red Hill would have 3 ladies score for 8 points. In the 4th, Ava Jent and Madeline Mann would each score again and the Lady Rockets would hold Red Hill to only 1 point. Mann and A. Jent would have 4 each for the night and B. Jent would have 1. Also seeing playing time was Cortney Jones, Lyla Keepes, Ruby Newkirk, Kortney Hall, Hazel Earnest, Austin Steckler-Dee, and Linden Stevens. High scorers for Red Hill would be Miller and Hill with 9 each.
The Varsity team would win 24-20. SMS would trail Red Hill 6 to 5 at the end of the first. Madison Stevens would make two free throws and a bucket for 4 points. Chandler Cusick would add 1 from a free-throw and Sarah Mccorkle would go to the line but miss both free throws. At the end of the half Saint Marys lady Rockets would have a one point lead. Sarah Mccorkle would add another five points Madison Stevens would go 1/4 at the line and Chandler Cusick would add 2. In the third the Lady Rockets would out score Red Hill Lady Salukis 8 to 1. Nora Jones would go one of two at the line. Sarah Mccorkle would drain another three. And Madison Stevens would add 4. In the fourth Jones would add 2 and Sarah Mccorkle another 1. Madison Stevens would go 0/6 at the line. Also seeing playing time and adding intense defense would be Kali Walker Lily Keepes Lauren Fisher and Jordis Riley. Bella Jent Ava Jent Madeline Mann and Cortney Jones would also see playing time. Tess Heath would end the night with 10 points for Redhill. Sarah Mccorkle and Madison Stevens would each have nine for Saint Mary’s. Chandler Cusick and Nora Jones would each have three.
The SMS\AJH Lady Rockets will be back in action this Thursday, October 31 against Jasper/Geff at home. C game will start at 5:15. Any kids coming dressed in Halloween costumes receive free admission!
