After playing four of their last five games on the road the Wabash Valley College basketball teams will be home the next two games. On Wednesday they will play Olney Central and Saturday they will host Lake Land College. Saturday’s game is homecoming for Wabash. Both teams have better GRAC records than the WVC teams so it is time to win at home and move up in the standings of the conference.
Olney Lady Blue Knights come in 14-6 and in second place in the GRAC with an 8-2 record. They have won their last two games and beat Kaskaskia on Saturday 66 to 61. Top scorer is sophomore guard Kayla Sanford from North Posey HS averaging 11.7 ppg.
The Blue Knights are 13-6 and 6-4 in the GRAC. They have wins in January over Rend Lake on the road and then at home beat Lake Land in OT 110 to 109 and then Saturday they won 80 to 78. They have explosive guards in Josiah Wallace 21.1 ppg and Erikas Jakstys who averages 15.8 ppg. Both are shooting over 40% from behind the arc.
WVC Warriors are 12-8 and 5-4 in the GRAC while the women are 17-2 and 9-0 in the conference. Both teams will be looking to put together wins streaks after taking tough losses at Vincennes on Saturday.
