Jack Wayne Singer, 81

Jack Wayne Singer, 81, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away May 16, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family.

 Services will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., at Heartland Worship Center, in Mount Carmel, Illinois, with Pastor Tony Hodgson officiating.

 Jack was born to the late Carl and Mary Ann (Moade) Singer on August 8, 1941, in Mount Carmel, Illinois. He graduated High School in 1959 and received a Master’s Degree in Biblical Theology. Jack married Marcia Randolph on August 30, 1960, in Lawrenceville, Illinois. To this union two children were born:  Ginny (Gary) Brown, Mount Carmel, Illinois and Steven Singer of Valencia, California. Also surviving are his four grandchildren: Mallory (Chuck) Parr, Emily (Mitch) Kocher, Alex Singer, and Joshua Singer and great-grandchildren: Claudia and Camilla Parr, Vaida and Henry Kocher, and Baby Kocher on the way, and his brother Don (Barbara) Singer of Mount Carmel, Illinois, and sister-in-law Virginia Richey. Preceding him in death are his parents Carl and Mary Ann, sisters: Phyllis Coffey, and Shirley Barnett.

 He was very active in all sports during his High School years and being chosen for the All-State Football Team selection. After Jack and Marcia were married they moved to California where he worked for Kaiser Steel Corporation for 7 years. He took many mission trips to Jamaica and New York City. They truly enjoyed spending their time camping, which included camping in 49 of the 50 states. He owned and operated J&S Roofing for several years. Jack retired from being a Sergeant for the Mount Carmel Police Department after 24 years of service. He was a Master Marksman and enjoyed teaching new trainees. Jack was an avid St. Louis Cardinal’s fan and Mount Carmel Aces sports fan. He was also a member and Trustee at Heartland Worship Center.

Memorials can be made to Heartland Worship Center or St. Jude’s. Envelopes will be available at the church.
