Ronald Lee Green, 80

Ronald Lee Green, 80, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Wabash General Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family.  He was born on September 23, 1942, in Moweaqua, Illinois, the son of Kenneth Dean Green and Myrta Ellen (Baldwin) Green.  He married JoAnn Chapman on September 1, 1963, and together they have enjoyed fifty-nine years of marriage, centered around their family.

Ron was employed as a Wabash County 2nd Judicial Court Reporter for thirty-plus years.   He was an avid automobile enthusiast who liked cars of all kinds but especially Corvettes.  Ron liked to restore old cars in his spare time.  He attended the Daytona 500 many times with family, and enjoyed watching Indy, NASCAR and all kinds of racing on television.  Ron loved his family dearly and his grandchildren held a special place in his heart.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Ron leaves behind his loving wife, JoAnn; children, Kathy Ann Alka and husband Jon, Donald Lee Green and wife Susan; grandchildren, Matthew A. (Meredith) Alka, Steven L. (Kiley) Alka, Ty A. Green, Julie A. (Matthew) Herman, Nathan L. Green, Mariah L. Green, and Makenzie P. Green; great-grandchildren, Lane R. Alka, Ava G. Alka, Jase M. Alka, Chloe A. Alka, Mason D. Alka, Reid A. Alka, and Oaklynn A. Churchwell; one sister, Judy A. (Wynn) Herron; many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, and infant brother, Larry Green.

In keeping with the family’s wishes, all services are private, followed by a Private Burial at Charleston City Cemetery in Charleston, Illinois.
