1/20/2019-Mt. Carmel Police arrested two subjects after they were stopped for a traffic violation in the 200 block of E. 3rd Street. During the traffic stop MCPD K-9 Ace arrived on scene and indicated possible narcotics in the vehicle. Police searched the vehicle and located suspected drug paraphernalia. Police arrested 48 year old Jacqueline S. Lloyd of Princeton and 33 year old Steven K. Linxwiler of Patoka on drug paraphernalia charges. Both were transported to the Wabash County Jail and held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Woman Goes To MCPD To File Report & Is Arrested On KY DOC Warrant
01/21/2019-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 32 year old Susan M. Askren of Mt. Carmel on a Kentucky Department of Corrections parole warrant after she arrived at the Mt. Carmel Police Department to file a report. During the course of the investigation it was discovered that Askren was wanted on the Kentucky warrant. Askren was held at the Wabash County Jail until transfer to Kentucky.
Two Cited For Allowing Dogs To Run At Large
01/22/2019-Mt. Carmel Police cited two individuals for permitting a dog to run at large. Police were called to the 500 block of Cedar Street reference a dog bite complaint. The complainant advised that while walking down the road, a dog entered the roadway and bit him in the leg. The owner of the dog as Cheryl D. Nelson. Nelson was issued a citation and released. The complainant required medical attention but was expected to make a full recovery.
Mt. Carmel Police were called to the 200 block of Bellmont Street in reference to 2 dogs running loose. One of the dogs was said to have knocked a 5 year old boy to the ground causing a minor cut to his leg. The owner of the dog was identified as Brandon L. Garrett. Garrett was issued a citation and released.
Mt. Carmel Man Picked Up On DOC Warrant
01/22/2019-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 31 year old Joshua S. Baker of Mt. Carmel on an Illinois Department of Corrections warrant. Police located him in the 1400 block of W. 3rd Street and placed him under arrest. Baker was transported to the Wabash County Jail and held pending transfer to the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Couple Arrested After Being Stopped By MCPD
1/17/2019-Mt. Carmel Police arrested a couple after a traffic stop in the 1000 block of W. 3rd Street. Police arrested 60 year old Michael P. Staley of Mt. Carmel on a Wabash County deceptive practice warrant. Police then arrested the passenger in the vehicle, 50 year old Loretta L. Staley of Mt. Carmel. Loretta Staley was arrested and charged with resisting a peace officer and obstruction of justice after she interfered with the arrest of Michael Staley. Both subjects were transported to the Wabash County Jail where processed and released with a court date.
Traffic Stop Leads To Arrest
1/17/2019-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 54 year old Stephen D. Allen of Mt. Carmel after police stopped his vehicle in the 100 block of E. 9th Street. During the traffic stop it was discovered that Allen was driving on a suspended license. Allen was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he received a citation for driving while license is suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Allen was held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Woman Picked Up On Warrant Outside Local Restaurant
1/15/2019-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 48 year old Jodi K. Parrish of Mt. Carmel on a Wabash County deceptive practice warrant. The arresting officer reported seeing Parrish standing outside of the Tastee Freeze restaurant. The officer made contact with Parrish and placed her under arrest. Parrish was transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was held pending the posting of bond.

VEHICLES: Unit 1: White, 2018, Peterbuilt armored truck Unit 2: White, 2011, Freightliner truck tractor, semi-trailer combination
DRIVERS: Unit 1: Joseph W. Wright, Age 23, Evansville, IN Unit 2: David B. Huffman, Age 40, Lebanon Junction, KY
PASSENGERS: Unit 1: Robert A. Ijames, Age 34, Calhoun, KY
CAUSE: Failure to reduce speed
TRANSPORTS: Ijames was transported to an area hospital.
PRELIMINARY: According to the preliminary traffic crash investigation, Wright and Ijames were traveling westbound in the white, 2018 Peterbuilt armored truck on Interstate 64 at milepost 97. The armored truck struck the rear of the white, 2011 Freightliner truck tractor, semi-trailer in combination after it had merged into the driving lane from the right hand shoulder of the Interstate. Ijames was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of injuries that he sustained in the crash. The armored truck was towed from the scene. A D-19 Commercial Motor Vehicle Officer conducted an inspection on both vehicles involved in the crash. ISP District 19 was assisted at the crash scene by Wayne City Ambulance, Wayne County Ambulance, Wayne City Fire Department, Sully’s Towing (Evansville, IN) and Illinois Department of Transportation.
CHARGES: Wright was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Huffman was cited for driving on a flat tire.

Approved a Resolution to Abate a portion of the Tax Levy concerning the Taxable General Obligation Bond the district currently has. The abated portion will come from the 1% Sales Tax proceeds.
