Domestic Battery Charge Lands Mt. Carmel Man In Jail

On 8/16/18 Mt. Carmel Police arrested Richard L. Reed, age 26, of Mt. Carmel, for Domestic Battery following a report the Reed had struck a family member in the face and busted the glass out of the front door at a residence in the 500 block of N Division Street.  Officers investigated the complaint and found evidence to substantiate the claim.  Reed was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged and held pending a bond setting by a judge.

Woman Arrested For Domestic Battery

On 8/18/18 Mt. Carmel Police arrested Kimberly J. Brown, age 51, of Mt. Carmel, for Domestic Battery following a dispute at a residence in the 1300 block of N Cherry Street.  Once police investigated the complaint they found evidence to indicate Brown had battered a family member by kicking them.  Brown was transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged and held pending a bond setting by a judge.

Mathis Arrested On Disorderly Conduct Charge

On 8/18/18 Mt. Carmel Police arrested Zachary A. Mathis, age 27, of Mt. Carmel, following a dispute in the area of 6th & Division Street.  Police arrived and found that Mathis had came to a residence in the area to confront the resident over past issues.  Following an investigation into the matter Mathis was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct and transported to the Wabash County Jail.  Mathis was held on a $150 cash bond.

Pair Arrested After Traffic Stop

On 8/23/18 Mt. Carmel Police arrested Sabra B. Mathis, age 26, of Mt. Carmel, along with Nathan G. Jackson, age 36, of Bellmont, following a traffic stop in the alley of the 900 block of N Cherry Street.  An MCPD Officer knew a passenger in the vehicle, Nathan Jackson, had a warrant for his arrest.  The warrant was out of St. Clair County Illinois for Possession of Methamphetamine.  Jackson was placed under arrest and secured in a squad car.  During this time the driver of the vehicle, Sabra Mathis, refused the officer's commands to stay in the vehicle while the arrest was taking place.  Mathis was then placed under arrest for Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer.  Both were transported to the Wabash County Jail where they were charged.  Mathis was held on a $150 cash bond while Jackson is being held on a no bond warrant out of St. Clair County.

Report Of Domestic Dispute Near Courthouse Leads To Arrest Of 2 Kentucky Residents

On 8/24/18 Mt. Carmel Police arrested Bryan K. McLevain, age 45, and Elizabeth D. Stocker, age 35, both of Corydon, Ky, following a dispute in front of the Wabash County Courthouse.  Officers learned that the dispute was only verbal but found that one of the involved parties, McLevain, had operated a vehicle to the courthouse with a suspended license in a vehicle with no insurance.  Another one of the parties involved, Stocker, was found to have a Wabash County Warrant for Failure to Appear.  Both were arrested and escorted to the Wabash County Jail.  McLevain was held on a $200 cash bond while Stocker was held on a $500 cash bond.

Gillihan Arrested On FTA Warrant

    On 8/25/18 Mt. Carmel Police arrested Jeramey A. Gillihan, age 38, of Mt. Carmel on a Wabash County  Failure to Appear Warrant.  The arresting officer observed Gillihan operating a bicycle in the 800 block of Chestnut Street and placed him under arrest.  During the arrest Gillihan was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine along with a glass pipe used to ingest methamphetamine.  Gillihan was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged and held pending a bond setting by a judge.
