The Wabash County Highway Department has continued road patching work as crews take advantage of the availability of hot-mix asphalt.
County Highway Engineer Dustin Bunting updated the Wabash County Board last week, saying the department recently obtained additional surface mix from Ambraw Asphalt while the company's plant was operating.
Bunting said crews have been trying the surface mix for patching and have been pleased with the results.
He said the department anticipates using more of the hot-mix material for future patching projects whenever it is available.
Bunting also reported that the county's loader is currently out of service due to leaking seals. The equipment is in the shop for repairs, but Bunting said he does not expect it to be down for an extended period.
Other than the loader repairs, Bunting said operations at the Highway Department are going well.
