On September 24, 2026, at 12:31 p.m. Gibson County Deputy U.B. Smith conducted a traffic stop on a White 2000 International Truck at Walmart after observing the vehicle disregard a stop light on US 41 and County Road 100 North. Upon stopping the vehicle Deputy Smith identified the driver as 24-year-old Kentarian Williams of Ashtown, Arkansas. During the interaction Deputy Smith detected the odor of raw Marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and began a roadside drug investigation. At the conclusion of the investigation Mr. Williams was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Detention Center where he was charged with Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Marijuana. Mr. Williams was also issued citations for Disregarding a Traffic Control Device, Operating a Commercial Vehicle without a CDL, and Driving While Suspended.
Deputies Jennifer Loesch, Bryan Small, and Aubrey McNeely assisted Deputy Smith in his investigation.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
