A public hearing has been scheduled for a revised solar farm application from RWE in Wabash County.
Wabash County Commissioners received an update on the project during their meeting Monday afternoon. County officials said Bellwether reviewed RWE’s amended application and determined it meets state guidelines and the requirements of the county’s solar ordinance.
Commissioners said the primary change involves relocating some of the acreage included in the project. The change became necessary because property originally leased for the development had been associated with coal mining operations and had not yet received the necessary reclamation bond release.
Officials said RWE has now completed the revised application requirements.
The county will hold a public hearing and special meeting on the application Wednesday, October 7th. That will follow the commissioners’ regular meeting earlier that week on Monday.
Commissioners indicated that because the revised application has met the applicable requirements, the project can now move forward to the public hearing stage.
