On August 29, 2026, at approximately 4:45 a.m. Gibson County Deputy Michael Bates conducted a traffic stop on US 41 near County Road 1025 South on a Black 2006 Ford Explorer after observing multiple moving violations. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Bates immediately detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver 47-year-old Justin Harmon of Lewisburg, Tennessee. At that point Deputy Bates began a roadside DUI investigation. Once the inquiry was completed Mr. Harmon was placed into custody and transported to the Gibson County Detention Center where he was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated.
Deputy Levi Sims assisted Deputy Bates in his investigation.
