Progress Continues On New City Pool Complex

Construction continues to make steady progress on Mount Carmel's new aquatic center.

During Monday afternoon's City Council meeting, Mayor Joe Judge said work is moving along well, with the bathhouse beginning to take shape.

Judge told council members the bathhouse walls are now going up, while crews continue making progress on the pool shell. He said residents can expect to see even more visible changes over the next two weeks as concrete walls begin to be poured.

The mayor said the project will soon start looking much more like a completed aquatic center as construction advances.

Judge also announced the project has received another $20,000 in donations over the past two weeks. He thanked the individuals and organizations that have contributed to the fundraising effort, saying their continued support is helping make the new aquatic center a reality.

The new pool is scheduled to open for the 2027 swimming season.
