Election Day Tuesday: Wabash County and Illinois Races

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3rd, and voters across Illinois will head to the polls to decide several local and statewide races. Polling places will be open from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m.

One of the biggest statewide races is for governor, where Democratic incumbent J.B. Pritzker is seeking a third term against Republican challenger Darren Bailey. It's a rematch of the 2022 election, when Pritzker defeated Bailey by nearly 13 percentage points.

Illinois voters will also choose a successor to longtime U.S. Senator Dick Durbin, who is retiring. Democratic Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton faces Republican Don Tracy and American Center Party candidate Whitfield Harrington Junior in the race for Durbin's Senate seat.

In Wabash County, the only contested county office is county clerk, where Republican challenger Sean Morgan is looking to unseat longtime Democratic incumbent Janet Will. Will is currently the only Democrat among Wabash County's elected county officials.

The county's other races for sheriff, treasurer, and county commissioner are uncontested in the general election.

WSJD will have Election Night coverage Tuesday evening, with results coming directly from the Wabash County Courthouse in Mt. Carmel.
