WABASH COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT REPORTS SUCCESSFUL FLU CLINIC, UPCOMING COMMUNITY EVENTS

The Wabash County Health Department administered 329 flu shots during its recent drive-thru flu clinic.

Health Department Administrator Judy Wissel shared that information with the Wabash County Board of Commissioners during Monday afternoon's meeting.

Wissel thanked Public Utility for providing space for the clinic.

She also reported that the Health Department participated in career fairs at Mount Carmel High School and Edwards County Junior-Senior High School, promoting careers in public health.

Looking ahead, the Department's DFC program will host a Family Movie Night this Saturday, October 24th, at Merchants Park beginning at 7:30 p.m. The featured movie will be "Hocus Pocus," and families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.

Wissel also noted that the Health Department has been participating in the "Painting the Town Pink" campaign during October in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, encouraging screenings and community support.

In personnel matters, the Health Department is currently accepting applications for a Family Engagement Specialist.

Anyone interested in the position can submit a resume to tbarbre@wabashhealth.org or stop by the Health Department for more information.
