The Mt. Carmel City Council has awarded two local contractors the bids for demolition work at the city pool. The council accepted the low bid of $12,500 from Guisewite Excavating to take off the roof of the pool building while Swanson Excavating’s bid of $107,900 was approved for the rest of the building’s demolition along with the pump house, and pool. The roof demolition was bid out separately because it contains asbestos.
