On 9/13/24, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Paul G. Deweese, age 33, of Mt. Carmel for Aggravated Domestic Battery following an investigation into a domestic dispute at McDonalds. Officers arrived on scene, and found the suspect, Deweese, had already left the establishment; however, he had just had a verbal dispute with a female roommate. The female stated she came to McDonalds to get away from Deweese and that customers and employees had to intervene to get Deweese to leave. During their investigation, police found evidence to indicate Deweese had choked the alleged victim on this date and allegedly on or around 9/09/24, during another domestic dispute. Deweese was placed under arrest and transported to the Wabash County Jail. Deweese was charged and held pending a pre-trial release determination by the court.
