Report Of Stolen Vehicle Results In Charges For Princeton Woman

On 6/16/24, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Olivia J. Robbins, age 35, of Princeton, Indiana for Possession of Hypodermic Needles, Unlawful Weapon by Felon, and Unlawful Possession of a Vehicle Title.  Prior to the stop, MCPD had received a report of a possible stolen vehicle entering Mt. Carmel from Indiana.  The officer located the suspect vehicle, a blue 2006 Toyota, in the 600 block of N Walnut Street.   In making contact with the driver, identified as Robbins, they found that Robbins had borrowed a vehicle from the owner and failed to return it when requested.  As the officer spoke to Robbins, he observed the handle of what appeared to be a handgun that was partially concealed in the passenger seat.  The possible firearm was actually found to have a replica revolver handle that was attached to a large knife with a nearly 9-inch blade.  This weapon was unlawful for Robbins to possess due to being a convicted felon.  Furthermore, the officer located (8) used hypodermic needles that were suspected of being used to inject illegal narcotics.  Lastly, the officer found multiple vehicle titles in her possession that belonged to other individuals.  The owner of (5) of the titles was contacted and they confirmed the titles belonged to vehicles in their possession and they believed the titles were still in their home.  This individual does not reside in Mt. Carmel and it appears Robbins illegally obtained said titles.  Robbins was taken to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged accordingly and released on a Notice to Appear.  The owner of the Toyota arrived and took back control of his vehicle but declined to pursue charges.
