Personal injury crash at US 41/ CR 100 W nets arrest of drunk driver

On August 17, 2023, at 9:23 a.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a 911 report of an accident with injuries on US 41 at the County Road 100 West intersection.  Upon arriving Deputy U.B. Smith began an investigation into the accident and determined that Silver 2021 Kia Sorento was slowed or stopped headed southbound at the traffic light when a Black 2008 Ford Explorer ran into the rear end of the Kia Sorento.  Medics from the Gibson County Ambulance Service as well as the Princeton Fire Territory responded to the scene.  The driver of the Kia Sorento was transported to Deaconess Gibson for treatment for complaint of pain to head, neck, and chest pain. 
 
While working the accident Deputy Smith detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from 62 year old Michael Glover of Greencastle.  At that point Deputy Smith shifted his investigation to a DUI crash investigation.  During that investigation Mr. Glover, the driver of the Ford Explorer was transported to Deaconess Gibson for a certified blood drawl.  At the conclusion of Deputy Smith’s investigation and upon receiving the results of Mr. Glover’s blood test Deputy Smith transported Mr. Glover to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Involving a Serious Bodily Injury Accident.  Mr. Glover remains in custody on a $750 bond. 
 
Assisting Deputy Smith in his investigation was Deputy Bryan Small and Sergeant Roger Ballard of the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office.  Also assisting were Princeton Police Chief Derek McGraw and Officer Jason Swan.
