On 4/05/23, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Susan D. Peterson, age 62, of Mt. Carmel on a Wabash County Warrant for Possession of Methamphetamine and a Wabash County Warrant for Petition to Revoke Probation. The arrest was a result of a Wabash County Probation check on Peterson at her home in the 1200 block of Cedar Lane in March 2023. Officers from the Mt. Carmel Police Department and the Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force assisted probation officers at their request. During the check, officers located suspected methamphetamine and along with other associated items commonly used to ingest the substance. Peterson is currently on probation in Wabash County for Possession of Methamphetamine. On this date, Peterson was taken into custody at her residence and transported to the Wabash County Jail. Each warrant carried a $1000 cash bond meaning Peterson is being held on $2000.
