A convicted drug dealer will be sentenced this afternoon in Wabash County Circuit Court. 61 year old John Dardeen was convicted by a Wabash County Jury last month on a Class 2 felony charge of meth delivery of more than 5 grams. That charge carries a possible prison sentence of 3 to 7 years. Following his conviction on February 8th, Dardeen’s $2,000 cash bail was revoked after he testified he was innocent of the meth selling charge because he sold cannabis not meth. Local authorities used Dardeen’s testimony against and obtained a search warrant for his residence in the 300 block of Walnut Street. The search resulted in several items being located that are associated with the manufacture and delivery of methamphetamine, a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun with ammunition, and many other cannabis related items.
