ISP TRAFFIC CRASH ALERT
The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 12
WHAT: Vehicle vs Pedestrian Fatal Traffic Crash
WHERE: Bridgeport Road approximately ½ mile south of Gaddey Lane, Lawrence County
WHEN: July 18, 2022 at approximately 4:26 a.m.
PEDESTIAN: Unit 1- Julie Ivers, 66-year-old female from Bridgeport, IL - Deceased
VEHICLE: Unit 2- 2017 White Volvo Truck-Tractor Semi-Trailer Combination
DRIVER: Unit 2- William Latch, 83-year-old male from Sumner, IL
PRELIMINARY: A preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred: Unit 2 was traveling south on Bridgeport Road, approximately ½ mile south of Gaddey Lane, in Lawrence County. For unknown reasons, the pedestrian was in the roadway and was fatally struck by Unit 2. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene by the Lawrence County Coroner. The driver of Unit 2 reported no injuries on scene.
The crash is under investigation and no further information is available.
