On 5/12/22, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Andrew M. Lagow, age 35, of Mt. Carmel, for Domestic Battery following an incident at a residence in the 100 block of Columbus Dr. Officers were called to the scene regarding an ongoing domestic situation within the home. Officers arrived on scene, observed smoke coming from the residence, and located Lagow and a female resident in the home. Officers found the smoke coming from the garage due to clothing being set on fire. MCFD arrived and extinguished the fire while officers continued to investigate the incident. During that time, officers discovered evidence indicating Lagow head-butted the female during the dispute. Lagow was placed under arrest and transported to the Wabash County Jail, where he was charged with the above offense. Lagow was held pending a bond setting by a judge. Wabash General Ambulance Service also assisted on the call.
