With a little less than two months left in the fiscal year, Mt. Carmel city revenues have already exceeded budgeted amounts in several categories. Heading into the 2021-22 fiscal year that began last May 1st, the city budgeted $2,944,700 in total general fund receipts. But as of the last financial report released on February 22nd, the city had already outpaced that amount as $3,188,496 had come in so far. Some of the funds that have exceeded what was expected is money from the video gaming tax which is almost double of the $60,000 that was budgeted. Other over performing accounts include replacement tax, state income tax, reimbursements, cannabis tax, and the sale of equipment.
