The city of Mt. Carmel is retaining a structural engineer as legal proceedings begin on the buildings at 500 and 502 Market Street. The buildings are owned by John Clancy and house the Little Egypt Arts Center. The city has attempted to work with Clancy in bringing the buildings up to code, but so far, those efforts have been unsuccessful, and the city is going to court to pursue the issue. The structural engineer will inspect the buildings and evaluate what needs to be done.
