On 12/10/22, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Jordan T. Smith, age 19, of Mt. Carmel, for Criminal Sexual Assault following an investigation into an alleged sexual relationship with a juvenile male from July 2022-October 2022. Police received the initial complaint on 12/09/22, after the victim’s parents became aware of the allegation. Following this investigation, police found probable cause and placed Smith under arrest. Smith was taken to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged and held pending a pre-trial detention determination. Bond was set at $5000 cash, which was later posted, and Smith released pending her next court date.
