As another surge in COVID seems to be lessening the IDPH says a time is coming when the public health reaction will change. Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike notes the downward trend in cases is great but other metrics will become more important when looking at the impact of the virus.
Hospitalizations are down about a 1000 from the recent peak. But they are still higher than they were in the winter of 2021.
