August was a rough month for COVID-19 cases in Wabash County and September is starting off even rougher. Health department administrator Judy Wissel told county commissioners yesterday that August totaled 325 positive cases and one death. But, through the first week of this month, there have already been at least 59 cases and three deaths.
The health department held a vaccination clinic last Thursday as 160 vaccines were given. Wissel said the health department is providing walk in vaccination clinics on Thursdays at the health department. In addition, Wissel said her office can give the third dose of vaccine to those with immunocompromised conditions and should be able to give the booster vaccine to others later this month.
Testing is still available daily between 11 and 3 as the health department is testing between 50 and 100 people every day.
