Traffic accident leads to arrest of Petersburg man on DUI charge

On September 26, 2021, at 10 p.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a report of a vehicle in a ditch on State Road 65 north of Princeton near Severn’s Bridge. Officers from the Princeton Police Department as well as the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene. Upon arriving officers detected the strong smell of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver 62-year-old Larry Dunn of Petersburg. Deputy Brian Naas then began a roadside DUI investigation that resulted in Mr. Dunn being taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the jail Mr. Dunn was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. He has since posted a $650 bond.

Assisting Deputy Naas in his investigation was Princeton Officers Jeremy Robb, Matt Perry, and Sergeant Travis Lashbrook.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
